Bio
I'm Karen — an integrative energy healer, the founder of Alif Healing, and the person you'll be working with if you book a session. I work one-on-one with people navigating grief and major life transitions: bereavement, the end of a relationship, a health diagnosis, the slow loss of an identity, the unravelling of a life you thought you'd have. Some clients come to me weeks after a loss; others come years in, when the support they've already had just isn't enough. Both are the right time to start.
Credentials & modalities
My training has built outward over the years — from foundational energy work into the grief-specific, intuitive, and somatic modalities that shape the sessions I hold today. The work is experiential and rooted in the body, but it sits inside a real framework of training, supervised practice, and ongoing study.
Energy Healing
Foundational training in working with the human energy field — reading, clearing, and supporting natural flow as the core of every session.
Intuitive Energy Healing
Trained in reading what comes through in the moment — values, images, and somatic shifts that surface when the body is given quiet, held space.
Grief & Loss Work
Specialised support for bereavement and major loss, including the long arc of grief — the months and years after a death when most support has fallen away.
Past Life Trauma Work
Trained in working with patterns that feel older than this lifetime — the recurring shapes grief and fear take that have roots beyond the present.
Incense & Herbs
Plant- and smoke-based ritual practices (copal, palo santo, sage) used in in-person sessions to settle the room and support release.
Somatic Awareness
Ongoing study of how grief and trauma live in the body — and of the gentle, non-forced ways the body is willing to let go when given the right conditions.
An approach to grief work
Grief is not a problem to be solved. It is a process the body is already doing, and most of my work is not about pushing it forward or making sense of it — it's about removing the things that are getting in the way of it moving. In practice, that means slowing down, getting quieter than the mind has been, and listening to what the body already knows. When given the right conditions — a held room, a steady hand, time — the body has a remarkable capacity to release what it has been carrying. Most of the work is making that possible.
I don't follow a single school of thought, which is a deliberate choice. The body doesn't separate integrative energy healing from intuitive guidance from gentle somatic attention — and many clients are carrying more than one kind of loss at a time. A person grieving a parent while also navigating an identity transition or a health crisis doesn't need a technique; they need a practitioner who can hold all of it without flattening it. My training reflects that: foundational energy work, intuitive reading, grief-specific support, past-life trauma work, and ongoing somatic study so the work can meet you wherever you actually are.
The other thing worth saying is that nothing is required of you in a session. There is no belief you have to hold, no emotional state you have to reach, no specific outcome you're working toward. You don't have to understand what's happening for the work to work. Many clients come in sceptical, uncertain, or simply tired — and that is welcome. If something in you is asking for a quieter, more held kind of support than you are currently getting, the free 15–20 minute consultation is the lowest-stakes way to find out whether this is the right room for it.
